About Us

Woontante was founded in 2009 by a Dutch-Irish entrepreneurial couple, beginning its journey as a home furnishings shop in Amsterdam’s vibrant De Pijp neighbourhood. In 2017, we made the complete transition from bricks to clicks, bringing our collection online and allowing customers to shop with us 24/7.

Today, Woontante is an exclusively online store, so we no longer have a physical shop or showroom with fixed opening hours. However, customers are still welcome to collect their online orders from our location in De Pijp by appointment.

We carefully select every brand and product we offer, choosing only pieces that we genuinely love and believe deserve a place in your home. Responsible sourcing is at the heart of what we do, and we maintain a strict animal-free product policy. It is extremely important to us that the products in our collection contain no animal-derived materials.

Our style has never been about following just one trend. Instead, we combine influences from bohemian, shabby chic, Scandinavian, country and industrial interiors to create an eclectic and distinctive collection. We look for pieces with character – products that feel a little different, add warmth and personality to a space, and help make a house feel like home.

Since 2009, our philosophy has remained simple: to offer distinctive home furnishings that we love, source responsibly and would happily have in our own homes.
